Nice Esfahanis at the tomb of Cyrus the Great

The tomb was called "the Tomb of Solomon's Mother" for several millenium maybe so that invaders wouldn't desecrate it. In the last century it was rediscovered as Cyrus' tomb.

Shah Gorg the First

The terraced walk way above the Quran Gate of Shiraz. There is a great cave with Tea Room and Qalyoun at the top.

Naghshe Rostam - the Necropolis with the tombs of Darius the Great, Xerxes and ArtaXerxes and giant sculptures underneath.

The scale of the scuptures just isn't captured in the photos. If you have good eyes, read the plaque on the right foto.

Even the Graffiti is old

Darius founded Persepolis about 512BC when the Persian empire spread from India to Greece.

This was where the tribute was brought to the king. Many of the freezes show the varied tribes and tribute of the empire.
