Alborz Mountains and the Caspian Sea

Alamut Castle - a heck of a climb to an Assassin castle where there is an archelogical dig going on. We couldn't fotograph the dig...

The Caretaker of Alamut (perhaps an assassin himself...?)

Alas, I found Sirab Sherdun, but it's not cooked!

All in one bathroom, S**t, Shower and Shave without having to move. Don't drop the soap...

A very gaudy emamzadeh shrine.

North Along the caspian - very green, rice paddies and tea drapped hills

The market in Fuman

Masuleh - we stayed at some ladies houses for 2 nights.

The roofs of one level are the streets of the next.

Amu Abdullah - always smilin.

Mehran - before the wrestling match - can't show the after picture, he was badly bruised and shamed. (Note: Mehran always wanted to be a member of a ZurKhane but could not pass the test...)

Rice

Tea

Hike up to Roodkhan castle a beautiful woodsy hike, very few folks up there. A really amazing Seljuk Castle (11th - 13th century) with a great view.

Mehran complaining about how difficult the hike is even though he was the youngest one in the group!

Mehran, trying to figure out how to get us to carry him back down the big hill....

Some cute esfahanis - they didn't ask for money (or a visa)

Mehran makes a new friend. (Note: This turtle now shares a cute rent controlled apartment with Mehran in the outskirts of Qom, and is very happy - but misses her family....)

Tea picking

Typical Masuleh weather.

Boat trip in the Anzali Marsh

Camera battery pooped out.

Mountains north of Tehran on the way back.
